Direct Support Professional

Our Direct Support Professional position acts as a front-line support to implement individual and group  community-based and in-home supports. Providers implement individualized service plan supports for adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities (I/DD) in ways that maximize the independence and self-esteem of individuals served by the agency. These supports include Attendant Care, Skills Training, Day Support Activities and transportation.

The Skills Trainer provides individualized support and skills training for Project SEARCH interns and other FT Works clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in internship, community, and competitive work environments. The Skills Trainer works in collaboration with the Project SEARCH Instructor, host businesses, and other partners to help clients acquire marketable, competitive skills and successfully integrate into employment settings.

Community Employment Specialist

The Project SEARCH Instructor supports young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in gaining real-world job skills through internship experiences at a host business site. This role combines classroom instruction, on-site coaching, and collaboration with employers and service partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily employability skills instruction (e.g., communication, workplace behavior, problem-solving)  
  • Collaborate with business partners, staff, and team members to ensure successful internship experiences 
  • Track progress, complete documentation, and contribute to individualized employment plans 
  • Assist with job readiness, resume building, and transition planning 

Schedule:
Part-time, 10–15 hours per week; primarily weekday daytime hours aligned with program schedule.

Community Employment Specialist

The Employment Specialist supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in building skills, exploring career interests, and achieving meaningful community-based employment. This role blends direct support (DSP), skills training, and Employment Path services as defined by ODDS to promote independence, confidence, and successful job outcomes. 

 Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, person-centered support in community settings, ensuring health, safety, and engagement 
  • Deliver skills training in areas such as communication, social interaction, time management, and workplace readiness 
  • Facilitate Employment Path services, including career exploration, job sampling, informational interviews, and community-based learning experiences 
  • Assist with on-the-job coaching.
  • Promote community inclusion by connecting individuals to meaningful activities and natural supports 
  • Complete accurate documentation and service notes in compliance with agency and ODDS requirements

The Job Developer partners with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), employers, and community partners to secure and sustain meaningful, competitive employment. This role focuses on job placement, employer engagement, business networking and collaboration with Vocational Rehabilitation processes to support successful employment outcomes.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized job placement strategies based on each person’s strengths, interests, and career goals 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers to identify hiring needs and create job opportunities 
  • Support individuals through the application, interview, and hiring process, including resume building and interview preparation 
  • Facilitate job matching and placement, ensuring alignment between employer needs and candidate strengths 
  • Provide initial job coaching and onboarding support to promote early job success and retention 
  • Maintain accurate documentation and billing records in compliance with agency, VR, and ODDS requirements

DSP Supervisor/QED (Qualified Entity Designee)

The DSP Supervisor / QED provides leadership, oversight, and quality assurance for direct support services, ensuring individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) receive safe, person-centered, and compliant supports. This role combines frontline supervision with QED responsibilities, including staff training, service monitoring, and adherence to ODDS regulations. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), including scheduling, coaching, and performance management 
  • Serve as QED, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with ISP plans, service authorizations, and Oregon ODDS requirements 
  • Conduct staff training and competency assessments, including onboarding, skills development, and ongoing coaching 
  • Monitor service quality and documentation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness (e.g., progress notes, EVV compliance) 
  • Support implementation of behavior support plans (PBSPs), risk management strategies, and safety plans 
  • Collaborate with case managers (CME), families, and interdisciplinary teams to address service needs and updates 
  • Ensure staffing levels and schedules meet individual support needs while maintaining compliance with labor and service requirements
